The MSc “Food Process and Product Engineering“ is an interdisciplinary research degree, jointly offered by the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover (TiHo) and the German Institute of Food Technologies (DIL)
The master’s program “Food Process and Product Engineering (FPPE)” includes four semesters, and the achieved graduation will be Master of Science (MSc). The program was established in a cooperation between the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover (TiHo) and the DIL German Institute for Food Technologies in Germany to give students a process-oriented understanding from animal to food (“from farm to fork”) along the entire production chain and in all its complexity.
The program is taught in English and prepares students for PhD studies or careers in the agri-food industry
University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover
Working for the Welfare of Humans and Animals
The University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover (TiHo) stands for long-standing competence in the field of veterinary medicine. It is an eminent scientific institution connecting modern science with university tradition.
German Institute of Food Technologies (DIL)
Knowledge for Superior Foods
The DIL German Institute of Food Technologies is a research institute with over 180 member companies and 200 employees. It drives innovation in food processing, safety, authenticity, sustainability, and food data.

The MSc FPPE combines research-driven learning with practical training in an international environment
During their studies the students are introduced to current research and scientific work at an early stage and come directly in contact with companies from industry and business. Therefore, the MSc FPPE combines practical work and knowledge in food process engineering with the scientific knowledge about food science.
Shaping Experts for Industry and Academia
Graduates of this program are in high demand as specialists and managers, with the ability to apply scientific models and engineering principles to real-world challenges, designing and implementing novel food processes and products. For those interested in academic research, the MSc also serves as a strong foundation for pursuing a PhD.
