This is not the update we had hoped to be writing but it is one we want to share honestly and directly. 

The MSc Food Process and Product Engineering will not be admitting a new cohort for the upcoming intake. The programme jointly established by the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover (TiHo) and the German Institute of Food Technologies (DIL) is currently in a period of transition. DIL remains fully committed to the FPPE and is actively looking for new partners to carry the programme forward in the form it deserves. 

The FPPE was built to give students a process-oriented understanding of the entire food production chain combining food process engineering with the scientific depth needed to work at the frontier of the agri-food industry, from animal to food and across every step of that chain. During their studies, students are introduced to current research and scientific work at an early stage and come directly into contact with companies from industry and business partners like Air Liquide, ELEA, ThyssenKrupp, Westfleisch, Coppenrath & Wiese, Danish Crown, and SLA, among others. Two cohorts of graduates have already shown what that education produces: specialists and managers now working across the food industry as well as in universities and research institutes, equipped with the engineering principles and scientific skills to take on real challenges. That is not a model DIL is walking away from. 

To the students currently enrolled: the programme continues for you, and you remain the priority. To everyone who has followed along, shared the posts, applied, or simply kept an eye on what we were building here – thank you. The FPPE is not finished. It is looking for its next chapter, and we intend to find it.
