🌟 Our FPPE students recently visited Elea Technology GmbH, gaining first-hand insight into cutting-edge Pulsed Electric Field (PEF) innovation. During the company tour, students learned how PEF gently but effectively opens cell membranes using short, high-voltage pulses—an approach that can improve product quality, increase processing efficiency, and reduce energy and water consumption across various food applications.
The Elea team provided engaging demonstrations of the technology in action and explained its rapidly growing relevance in sectors such as juice production, potato processing, and plant-based foods. Beyond the technical benefits, students were able to discuss real industrial use cases and explore how PEF is shaping the future of sustainable food processing.
For many participants, this visit also served as an inspiring look at potential career paths. Elea is a possible partner for future Intensive Case Studies or even master’s theses, offering students the opportunity to deepen their expertise in an innovative, research-driven environment. The visit was an exciting blend of learning, industry insight, and professional exploration—highlighting once again how strong partnerships enrich the FPPE program and open doors for our students’ future careers.
